World Greenhouse Gas Emissions

5% Of the World’s Population but 25.2% of Greenhouse Gases?
The United States pumps out more CO2 than the next two countries (Russia and China) combined. The United States leads the global consumption of oil at 20,030,000 barrels per day, which is over three times that of the next largest consumer of oil, China. All this with only 5% of world’s population.
So with all of the greenhouse gas emissions and oil consumption in the US, why is it that the US is only one of two nations that have yet to ratify Kyoto? Why has it recently been reported that the US population is the least informed of the facts behind global warming of all developed nations? Why is the US leading the world in global warming denial?
Simply put, the more greenhouse gasses a nation can produce the more economically powerful it can become.
The American public is deliberately kept in the dark by its leaders so that America can maintain its power and wealth. They confuse the facts so that the public can remain at odds and argue about the problem and this effectively stops anything being done about it.
Americans can then go on and enjoy their gluttonous lifestyle while third-world countries continue to starve.
This is true for Australia also.
