The ’signal’ cable tangle is no problem.
those are ‘current limited’ circuits.
The ‘power cord’ tangle can easily be one.
1. Check often that all your cords are in good condition.
Replace any that are frayed or damaged.
Try to keep them organized and out of harms way.
Make sure that there is some ventilation around those cords.
2. Don’t use too much power at any one time.
It’s not the number of devices you use, it’s the total load used.
Modems, converters, etc. draw only a few Watts.
(You can connect scads of them with no problem.)
Big items should not all be used at once.
3. That “flash’: Do not plug, or unplug things that are drawing power,
(except in ‘emergency disconnect` situations).
That receptacle is not designed to be used as a switch.
Plug in your device(s) first, then turn them on.
Turn them off when finished and before you start moving plugs about.
