Why would any car manufacturer want to sell cars in California?

Why would any auto manufacturer want to do business in California if they are going to put unreasonable demands on manufacturers. Last time I looked businesses and people were flocking out of California due to oppressive taxes, the economy, companies closing and either moving overseas or to another state with less regulations.
We just spent $17 to $20 Billion bailing out the beggers 3, how can they make cars more fuel efficient when they can’t even pull a profit. They should just close dealerships in these areas and let the citizens revolt because they cannot find vehicles to purchase.
You would think they have learned their lesson by now, if you tax the corp’s out of profitability they leave.
